For our Tuscan retreat, we chose a place that feels less like a hotel and more like stepping into the soul of Tuscany itself — Il Borro.

Owned by the Ferragamo family since the 1990s, this extraordinary estate is a beautifully restored medieval village with over 1,000 years of history.

Hidden among rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees, Il Borro embodies the quiet elegance and timeless beauty that define the Italian way of life.

For our Tuscan retreat, we chose a place that feels less like a hotel and more like stepping
into the soul of Tuscany itself — Il Borro.

What makes Il Borro so special is not only its breathtaking scenery, but the philosophy behind it. Ferruccio Ferragamo once described the estate as “a world apart, where harmony between nature, history, and people still exists.” 

And that feeling can truly be sensed in every detail — from the ancient stone houses and artisan workshops to the organic vineyards and sustainable farming traditions that continue to shape the estate today.

Il Borro produces its own organic wines, olive oil, honey, and seasonal ingredients, remaining deeply connected to the land and Tuscan heritage. Walking through the tiny cobblestone streets feels like traveling back in time, yet with the understated luxury and refined hospitality the Ferragamo family is known for.

For us, Il Borro became more than a destination for our retreat — it became a reminder of how beautiful life can feel when lived slowly, intentionally, and surrounded by beauty.
